Jackie Lee “Jack” Roach, 76 of Poplar Bluff, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St, Louis, MO.
Jack was born on April 25,1943 in Butler County, MO, the son of Lonnie and Arizona (Spradling) Roach. On June 5, 1961 he married Sonja Digges in Poplar Bluff. Together they have shared over fifty-eight years of marriage.
Jack was retired, having been a carpenter. He attended Twin Springs Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff.
Jack had many pastimes, the greatest of which was hunting, especially for deer and rabbit. He also enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, playing cards and watching western movies. Jack was an accomplished builder who constructed many valuable things over his life, the greatest being his family whom he loved dearly and spent much time with.
In addition to his wife Sonja of the home, Jack is survived by his daughters, Lonnetta “Loni” Stroud of Poplar Bluff and Jackie (Donn) Birmingham of Broken Arrow, OK; three grandchildren, Zachary Stroud of Poplar Bluff, Blake Birmingham of Denton, TX and Kayla Birmingham of Kansas City, MO. Other survivors include his siblings, Anna Chapman, Katie Loury, Terrie (David) Davis and Bennie (Beverly) Roach; and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn Sue Crites and two brothers-in-law, Joe Chapman and Charles Loury.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from Noon until the time of service in the chapel at Moore Funeral Service, 1100 Iron Bridge Road, Poplar Bluff.
Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Mayo Officiating.
Interment will immediately follow at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
